Nothing New

As the title says, nothing is new. I pretended to clip Tilda's nails again with my sister holding her on the chair. It went pretty good. My sister did get Tilda to lay in the chair by herself, but my sister was still holding on to her.

And of course I took Tilda for a walk today.

Back to Pretending

Even though clipping Tilda's nails yesterday went pretty good, we want her to get to the point where she doesn't mind having them clipped. So today I pretended I was clipping again. My sister held her in the chair while I pretended to clip. Tilda didn't do too bad, but she was shaking. She also wouldn't take a treat from me after I finished each paw, but she took treats from us when we were done. At least she wasn't too wiggly.

And like most days, I took Tilda for a walk. I had to give her some "reminders" that she needed to walk good.

The Real Thing

Well, today was the real thing. Nail clipping day. It actually went pretty good. My sister helped me by holding Tilda on the chair, so that helped. Tilda wouldn't take a treat from me after the first paw, but she took a treat after the other three paws. Yes! We are making progress!

I took Tilda for a nice long walk today. She walked pretty good. I had to sometimes "remind" her, as I call it, that she has to walk by me or behind me.

Tilda's walk and nail clipping again

Tilda's walk today went okay. She didn't stay by my side or behind me the whole time.

Today my sister held Tilda in the chair and I pretended I was clipping Tilda's nails. It went pretty good. She would not take a treat from me while I was pretending to clip.

Today's walk and Practice Nail Clipping

We are dog sitting Buddy and Gracie, so they came along on the walk today. Tilda walked okay with them. Sometimes she was behind them so that made it harder for her, but I wanted her to be behind them for the practice.

We are still having trouble with Tilda holding her on the chair getting her ready to have her nails clipped, but we did get her to settle down. We are still just working on holding her and touching her paws a little. We will still need to work on this.

Today's Walk and Nail Clipping

I took Tilda for a walk today, she walked okay. As you know I want her to walk by my side or behind me.

We made some progress with Tilda's nails. Although we are not ready to clip them, we are working with her so that when the time comes to clip them it will go okay. We just worked on holding her in the chair today. We did get her to settle down, yes!

Happy Birthday Tilda

Today is Tilda's first birthday. We got her when she was about fifteen weeks old, now she is already one year old.
Below is a picture of Tilda when we brought her home and the picture above is Tilda at one year old.

Tilda's Walk Today and Getting Her Nails Clipped

I took Tilda for a walk today. She is walking pretty good. I want her to walk at my side, if she walks behind me I'm fine with that. She has been walking pretty good lately, which is nice. It is so nice to walk with her when she walks at my side or behind me.

To clip Tilda's nails I usually put her in a chair on her back and she will just lay there. But a few days ago when I clipped her nails she only let me clip three of her nails and then she wouldn't let me clip any more of her nails while she laid in the chair. I needed my sister to help. Tilda wouldn't even let me clip her nails while my sister was holding her on the chair. We ended up getting them clipped by my sister standing and holding her, but she wouldn't take a treat for me.

Then today, I put her in the chair on her back and she wouldn't lay there. Then I tried holding her on the chair and that was okay, but she wouldn't take a treat from me. I will have to work with her so she will get used to getting her nails clipped once again.
