I have talked about how good Tilda does the weave poles. So, here is a short video of Tilda weaving.

Agility Class Results #2
Here's what happened last night at agility class.
First off, I think last week went better than this week. We worked on parts of a course and then did the full course. We had enough time to do the full course twice which was nice. Tilda didn't do too bad on the full course, it was when we were working on the parts that didn't go the best. She would do things like run up the a-frame instead of going in the tunnel. So I'll have to work with her on having pieces of equipment set up next to each other and Tilda will have to do the piece I tell her.
Tilda jumped off the table only once when she wasn't supposed to. Tilda's contacts/touches were good. They had a different chute set up and Tilda did that pretty good too. She was going up the teeter when she wasn't supposed to, so I had her come off of the teeter. As she was coming off she slipped. So that made her a little afraid of the teeter. Tilda also needs more tire practice. And Tilda weaved great!

Tilda had an Accident
This morning Tilda had an accident in my room. In my last post I said that Tilda sleeps in bed with me. So that means she can get up and jump out of bed in the morning. This morning she got up earlier than normal. She must have had to go, it was pretty wet.
I think she knew that she did something wrong. When I was cleaning it up I put her on my bed and told her to stay. I didn't want her to get in the way or step in it. Well, she was standing there with her tail down, slightly wagging. Then she went under the bed.

The Chute
Tilda is doing pretty good with agility. Tuesday class is coming up soon. I bought a chute and it came on Wednesday. It has been good practice for Tilda. So now I have another piece of agility equipment.
It is official, I put Tilda's crate away in the basement today. She does not need it any more. When we go somewhere she is put in the laundry room with a gate. At night I gate her in my room and she sleeps in bed with me.

Is This Tilda Proof? - Lambie
This is another toy Tilda destroyed in the past, and of course we still have this one around too. Lambie is Tilda's "find it" toy. Tilda got this toy when she was just a pup as a gift. It doesn't look like it now, but this toy did last pretty long. It had a squeaker in it and came with a replaceable squeaker. The first squeaker did wear out before she could pull it out. :)
Is this Tilda proof? Well, it kind of is. It did last a little while. But now it is ripped up.

Is This Tilda Proof? - Ducky
This is a past toy Tilda had destroyed. Well, we do still have it.
This toy did have a quacker, but she pulled that out. She destroyed this toy a little while ago.
Is this toy Tilda proof? No.

Chicken Treat Recipe
Alright, I have talked about my homemade chicken treats, so I'm going to post the recipe.
Please note before making: I'm not really sure how long these treats will stay fresh. So keep an eye on them. You can put them in the freezer to keep them fresher.

Tilda's Agility Class Results
Tilda's first agility class went pretty good yesterday. We worked on parts of the course and then ran the full course. When we worked on the parts I did Tilda on leash and then for the full course I did Tilda off leash. Both on leash and off leash she seemed pretty focused. It is a small class, which is nice.
Tilda was barking at a dog, so the one trainer said to let them sniff each other. Tilda was wagging her tail while they were sniffing each other, but then the other dog wanted to play. Because she wanted to play, she barked (she had a very deep bark). Well, that barked scared Tilda. Tilda backed up and put her tail down, and the other dog only wanted to play. :)
After running the full course we still had some time left, so we got to work on anything we wanted to work on, on leash. So, I worked on the teeter because it banged more than our teeter. I also worked on some other equipment as well.
Tilda hadn't seen an a-frame as high as the one at class, but there was no problem with that, she ran right up it. Tilda has seen a chute, but it wasn't as long as the one yesterday. She also wasn't sure about the tire and she had a little trouble with one of the tunnels. It was a dark blue tunnel and I wonder if it was a little dark in there for Tilda.
Tilda did good though. We had two trainers and both of them liked how Tilda jumped over the jumps and onto the table. They thought that Tilda was doing really good.
Gracie was also in the class and did pretty good too. I would say that Gracie could use a little more tunnel practice. But she did pretty good.

Agility Practice
I've been working with Tilda on agility. Classes are tomorrow already! I will have to pull out my tuna treats from the freezer. Talking about treats, I made some again. I made the hard chicken treats. I think I have pictures of them in an earlier post.
I know this is a short post, but at least it is something.

Tilda The Fetch Monster
Tilda is a fetch monster. She loves to play fetch.
This is a video of Tilda before going outside to play fetch.
Can you tell she gets excited?
Now here is a video of her playing fetch.
Would you say I've created a monster?
Maybe you won't believe it after watching that video of Tilda playing fetch, but we had to teach her how to fetch. It didn't come natural like it might with a retriever.

Is This Tilda Proof? - The Goose
Tilda got a nice Easter gift on the day before Easter. She got a bone (but that is not what I'm going to talk about) and a goose, it was actually a cute little goose, even though it was just a stuffed dog toy. Anyways, Tilda rips up her toys. So, you can guess she ripped this one up too. So, she got the toy on the 3ed and started ripping it up on the 4th, it didn't last long. Well, we do still have it, it just isn't in tip top shape. :)
Instead of a squeaker, the toy had a quacker. Well, it didn't take her too long and she had pulled that out. And of course she pulled out stuffing. She also ripped off some of the fur on the goose.
One thing I should note, Tilda does not eat the stuffing.
Tilda is a true terrier, as Buddy and Gracie do not rip up their toys. Terriers were bred to kill mice, rats, and snakes. Herding dogs, such as Shelties, were bred to herd. But I must say, Tilda is very good, most of the time she destroys her own toys. She isn't the kind of dog that rips up the couches or anything like that, which is fine with me. :)
So, is this toy Tilda proof? The answer: No.
This is what Tilda's goose did look like, actually I thick
she had already started to destroy him when I took this
picture. See what I mean though, he is a cute little toy.
This is the squeaker/quacker.
Here is a picture of the goose with a hole in it, poor
goose. It is even more destroyed now!
This is what I meant when I said she pulled off some
of the fur.

Just look at the poor old goose! :(

Back in the Groove
As the title says, Tilda seems to be back in the groove with the weave poles. Maybe sometimes she got a little nervous if she bumped the weave poles or something like that.

Agility Classes
Yes! Tilda is finally going to start agility classes. We will be in a beginner class with Gracie. I guess we will see how Tilda does around the other dogs. Besides being around other dogs, is the fact that she will be in a different place. It should be fun.
So, yesterday I found out that we are going to do agility classes, and what happens? Tilda is scared of the weave poles! I know, and she was doing good with them too. Go figure, we are going to do classes and Tilda is scared of the weaves. You might say, "how can a dog be scared of the weave poles? I mean they can't fall off like they can on a dog walk." This is what happened, first off I should say Tilda gets scared of things. My sister was working with her on the weave poles (we have to get Tilda ready for the classes) and Tilda's back legs or feet hit the poles or the base and then my sister bumped the weave poles. So that is how Tilda got scared of the weaves.
So, still in the same day (yesterday) I was working with her so she wouldn't be so scared. By the last time I had her weave for the day, she seemed like she was getting there, she didn't seem too scared.
Now today she still seems a little nervous, she seems to be bringing up her back legs or kind of doing a little hop through them. :)

The Teeter #2
Yesterday I was talking about the agility teeter totter and the contact/touches on it. So today I'm going to post some pictures. If you did not get what I meant when I was talking about the contacts/touches you will see what I meant in the photos below. Some are of Tilda on the teeter and some are of her contacts/touches.

The Teeter
I brought out the agility teeter totter to practice with Tilda. She seems to be doing pretty good on it. Along with just going on the teeter I'm having her "touch." Touch is my command for having her touch the yellow part on the teeter. The way I am having her do this is by having her stop with two paws (back paws) on the teeter and two paws (front paws) on the ground. That way there is no chances for a fly off to happen. A fly off is were the dog jumps off the teeter or any other obstacle with a contact (yellow part), without touching the yellow part. It is part of the rules in an AKC (American Kennel Club) agility trial that your dog touches the contact. You don't have to have your dog stop, just as long as they touch the yellow. The rule is also for safety.

Tilda's new trick
Tilda is learning a new trick, how to spin. When I say spin I mean that she spins in a circle. We just started teaching it to her this morning and she is all ready getting the hang of it. Sure, she doesn't do it all the time and we sometimes have to help her, but she is doing good for just learning it today.

Grooming Tilda
Today I groomed Tilda. This time it took me close to three hours to groom her.
This is a picture of Tilda before I stripped her, but after I brushed her.
(I forgot to take a picture before I brushed her).
This is a picture of Tilda after being groomed.
There is more info on grooming Australian Terriers in the post entitled Grooming Tilda the Aussie, and is labeled under Grooming.
